Decorative lighting fixtures such as chandeliers and sconces can now be fitted with energy-efficient LED lighting which replicates the classical lighting of older lighting applications. Victorian style light bulbs have been used in lighting applications for well over 100 years and many people are still fond of their antique chandeliers and lamps while realising the need to become more environmentally friendly. NxGen Technologies has now designed replacement LED lighting for the S14 incandescent light bulbs normally used in decorative lighting applications. They give the same amount of light using just one watt of electricity compared to the 11 to 15 watts often consumed by traditional bulbs. The lights are designed to retain the same aesthetic appeal as their incandescent counterparts, but also to save users money. David Allen, president of NxGen Technologies, said: "These bulbs have been designed to pay for themselves with energy savings in less than one year, depending upon local electricity rates."
